Viveu seus primeiros dezesseis anos de vida em Telemark, no coração da Noruega. O interesse de Jorn na música começou em uma idade adiantada, inspirada por seu pai que também é um músico e a música rock dos anos 70. Após muitos anos, tornando-se músico e compositor, excursionando com diversas bandas e aparecendo como convidado especial em diversos álbuns, sua primeira gravação especial foi com o “Vagabond” em 1993.
Durante a década passada lançou mais de vinte álbuns com bandas diferentes e projetos e trabalhou com os artistas grandes como Ronni Le Tekro, Yngwie Malmsteen, Micky Moody and Bernie Mardsen (Whitesnake), Joe Lynn Turner, Don Airey (Ozzy, Rainbow and Deep Purple), Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions). Seu maior destaque como front-man se dá por conta quando assume os vocais da banda alemã “Masterplan”, que conseguiu sucesso em torno do mundo.
Durante os últimos anos estabeleceu-se com sua própria banda sob o nome "Jorn" e com os álbuns do projeto "Avantasia" de Tobias Sammet. Jorn é conhecido para sua diversidade como um cantor. Lançou alguns dos álbuns mais finos do Metal Progressivo da década passada, mas retornou agora à suas raízes do clássico Hard Rock.
