O primeiro álbum foi lançado em 1981 pela Phoenix Records, “The Nightcomers”, mantendo-se até hoje como um dos favoritos do gênero.
O segundo álbum, “No Man’s Land” foi lançado em 1984, parte de um total de nove álbuns de estúdio e vários EPs e singles lançados até o momento. O novo EP “Expander” apresenta três novas músicas do próximo álbum “Sweet Liberty”, que será lançado entre 2013 e 2014.
Holocaust é uma das bandas mais influentes e pioneiras do metal. Seus álbuns têm sido constantemente influentes na cena metal, sendo uma das bandas mais “coverizadas” do gênero: Metallica regravou “The Small Hours” em seu EP “Garage Days” (1987), no álbum Garage Days Inc. (1998) e no single “Live At Whiskey In The Jar” (1999). Gamma Ray regravou a faixa “Heavy Metal Mania” em três ocasiões: CD/EP “Rebellion In Dreamland” (1995), CD Alive In (1996), no album “Land Of The Free” (1995) e, mais recentemente, “Death and Glory” no seu EP Master Of Confusion (2013), Six Feet Under regravou “Death or Glory” no seu álbum Warpath (1977)…
